Appears to be a possibility, if Maria Catarina Charguana Charbonneau (born to Margarita Sobin and Sacageawea's son John-Baptiste Charbonneau in 1848) bore children. John-Baptiste's burial place is undisputed. A DNA sample and testing of Luiseño people (or others in the region) might clear up the mystery, and put to rest claims of descendancy by others. Definitely a subject with relevancy today, when every claim of descendancy from Sacagawea is received and propagated by the mass media unquestioningly, in regards to the recent Lewis, Clark, and Sacagawea statue removal in Charlottesville, VA.
